Terms and Conditions

  1. The Promoter of this Draw is Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.

  2. This event is a fully licensed Draw under Section 28 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1956 (as substituted by Section 12 of the Gaming and Lotteries (Amendment) Act 2019).

  3. The terms and conditions herein set out are at all times governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland.

  4. The licence for this competition was granted in Castlebar district court, March 2023.

  5. The purpose of the Draw is for the funding of palliative care services in the community and the Mayo and Roscommon Hospices.

  6. The organisers of the Draw shall not derive any personal profit from the Draw.

  7. The Draw is open to all natural persons aged 18 years or older. Any tickets purchased by persons under the age of 18 years shall be declared null and void and shall not be included or deemed to be included in the Draw. Any persons named on a ticket under the age of 18 years shall be declared null and void and shall not be included or deemed to be included in the Draw. Any such entry Drawn at the Draw will be declared invalid and another ticket will be Drawn in its place.

  8. The cost of the Draw ticket is €15.00, 4 tickets may be purchased for €50.00 and 10 tickets may be purchased for €100.00.

  9. By purchasing a Draw ticket, the Draw ticket is indicating his/ her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  10. Members and their spouses and partners of the Draw organisers, appointed to organise and oversee the Draw and Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation staff are expressly precluded from purchasing a Draw ticket.

  11. There is no limit to the number of Draw tickets that an individual may purchase.

  12. Once purchased, the Draw ticket is non-refundable except in circumstances where the Draw is cancelled by the Promoter. In that event, a maximum amount of 80% of contribution will be refunded to the Draw ticket holder.

  13. Neither the promotor nor any of its servants, agents, licensees, trustees, committee members or the organisers of the Draw of whatsoever nature or howsoever appointed shall be liable for any failure in the performance of its obligations due to factors beyond its and/or their control.

  14. Neither the promotor nor any of its servants, agents, licensees, trustees, committee members or the organisers of the Draw of whatsoever nature or howsoever appointed shall be liable to the Draw ticket holders for any loss, inconvenience, damage or expense suffered by the Draw ticket holder participating in this Draw.

  15. The first prize of the Draw is a Volkswagen Polo Life (the prize car’s colour may vary).

  16. The prizes are non-transferable and vest in the winner only. No cash alternative.

  17. The promotor reserves the right to add additional prizes to the Draw. The addition of such prizes will be notified to the Draw ticket holders as soon as practicable through Mayo Roscommon Hospice social media channels and website.

  18. The Promotor reserves the right to alter prizes in the Draw for any reason whatsoever and will notify the Draw ticket holders as soon as practicable in respect thereof by publishing a notice through its social media and websites.

  19. The Draw will be held on 4th of September 2024. The Draw will also be broadcast live on Facebook with an independent adjudicator.

  20. The Promotor reserves the right to alter or change the date of the Draw for any reason whatsoever and in setting an alternative date will notify the Draw ticket holders as soon as practicable in respect thereof by publishing a notice through its social media and websites.

  21. The winner will be announced within 28 days of the Draw by email and/or Facebook and/or Twitter and /or Instagram and/ or SMS.

  22. To claim the prize, the winner must contact the promotor by email and/or post and/or Facebook and/or Twitter and/or Instagram and/or SMS or in person at the Promoter’s registered location.

  23. The winner may be subject to verification by the Promoter and this process may take up to 7 days to complete once the winner has claimed their prize.

  24. If the winner cannot be contacted via one of the above means of communication or does not claim their prize within 14 days of the notification of same, the promotor reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and select a replacement winner.

  25. The Draw will be implemented and conducted by the Promoter. The preparation of entries for the final Draw will be independently observed by our auditor John McCarthy. The promoter will maintain books and records recording all entries into the Draw and all costs relating to the Draw.

  26. The Promoter’s decision in respect of the winners and all or any other matters concerned with this Draw is final.

  27. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR):

    1. The Promoter will retain and use the Draw ticket holder’s personal data for the duration of the Draw and a reasonable period thereafter.

    2. On purchasing a Draw ticket, the holder agrees to the use of his or her details being used solely in connection with this Draw. Personal data of any kind will not be disclosed to a third party without the Draw ticket holder’s consent.

    3. The winners hereby agree and consent to the use of their personal data and /or image being released in publicity material in conjunction with the Draw.

  28. The Promoter, its servants, agents, licensees, trustees, committee members or the organiser of the Draw accepts no responsibility whatsoever whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission, interception or communication failure, for unreceived, late, missing, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, corrupted or misdirected claims, entries, applications or otherwise.
